Birth of Moorpankhi
Morpankh or Peacock feather enjoys the pride of adorning Lord Krishna’s crown.
It is one of the most beautiful and intriguing creations of nature. It looks attractive from far and
unfolds so many exquisite details when seen from close. It has an astounding level of precision
in its design. Its form, iridescent colours, intricate patterns, makes it a symbol of creativity,
perfection, beauty, joy, prosperity and peace. We at Moorpankhi identify with these unique
features of peacock feathers and also associate the artisans and their art with this idea.
What began as a passion to preserve authentic Indian craftsmanship has evolved into a
full-spectrum interior design and sourcing service for discerning homeowners worldwide.

weight, and tell stories; walls that listen to you keenly, and living rooms that add more meaning

For those who want their homes to be filled with stories, memories, emotions, and rooted in
traditional culture through indigenous crafts, this can only be achieved through both holistic
design and thoughtful curation. While we can provide design services, the challenge of curation
is a two-way street.
For clients, the diversity and geographical spread of India’s crafts make it difficult to connect
with artisans, communicate specifications, and coordinate the shipping of products from different
parts of the country to their homes. For artisans, the challenge lies in the lack of a platform,
documentation of their stories, and access to the digital marketplace.
As craft enthusiasts ourselves, we were deeply moved by the state of arts and crafts in the very
country from which they originated, and by the dignity, livelihood, and economic realities of the
artisans who sustain them. Moorpankhi was founded as a platform to document artisans, their
stories, and their art; to treat them with dignity; and to help create the livelihoods and economic
opportunities they deserve.
Alongside this, we are a team of interior designers whose work spans residential interiors for
villas and independent homes, as well as commercial, hospitality, and lifestyle spaces. We
believe in a holistic, human-centric design process that integrates emotional needs, storytelling,
and the creation of spaces that feel rich with meaning, purpose, and intent.

The Founders
Founded by Vyom Sinha and Alka Sinha, Moorpankhi is guided by a shared depth of understanding in Indian culture, traditional design systems, and architectural philosophy. With formal education in architecture and design, and a refined aesthetic shaped by years of practice, they bring together spatial intelligence and cultural sensitivity in equal measure. Their work has successfully translated the richness of Indian heritage into contemporary homes for NRIs across the world crafting environments that feel rooted yet relevant, timeless yet personal.
More than passion, the Moorpankhi team holds a knowledge-based admiration for the layered wisdom embedded in Indian material culture. It’s a pleasure to keep it resonating through pillars and porches across different corners of the world.
